| THURSDAY 1/4/07 6:45-7:45PM BENCH PRESS WORKOUT WARMUP 255 6X3 WORKOUT 315X1 365X1 405X1 435X1 395X3 405X3 415X2 425X1 I QUIETLY DROPPED 30 POUNDS AT THE END OF LAST YEAR GETTING READY FOR A CRUISE. I SAY QUIETLY, BECAUSE FEW PEOPLE SEEMED TO NOTICE. IF YOU WANT TO SEE YOUR MAXES DROP, LOSE 30 POUNDS! I AM SLOWLY BUT SURELY GETTING MY STRENGTH BACK. THE ABOVE WORKOUT IS AN EXAMPLE OF WAVING THE WEIGHT UP AND DOWN AND THEN BACK UP AGAIN. BULGARIAN WEIGHTLIFTERS HAVE BEEN GIVEN MUCH OF THE CREDIT FOR THIS KIND OF TRAINING. THE 6 SETS OF 3 AT THE BEGINNING HELP ME LOOSEN UP, GET A GOOD BLOOD FLOW TO MY MUSCLES, AND WORK ON MY EXPLOSIVENESS. I WENT INTO THIS WORKOUT WITH A ROUGH GUIDELINE OF WHAT I WANTED TO ACCOMPLISH. I ADJUSTED THE WORKOUT AS IT PLAYED OUT. I WOUND UP LIFTING MUCH MORE THAN I HAD ORIGINALLY PLANNED. |
